Too bad their culture is tainted by the Armeinian Genocide which the Ottoman Turks perpetrated against their Armenian population in 1915 slaughtering 1.5 million innocent civilians!

My wife and I travelled through Turkey a few years back and loved the people, the food and the culture. All great cultures have their tainted pasts, oh well.

All great cultures have their tainted pasts, oh well? Are you flipping kidding me? Talk about a man who is afraid to get honest and oh...have feelings. That was the most disrespectful lazy careless comment possible.

What gorgeous architecture! I would love to visit the bazaar in Istanbul and take in all the textiles and beautiful embroidery as well.

It's important to note that all the great Ikat and Suzani designed pillows and fabric are produced by the peoples of Uzbekistan in Central Asia and imported and sold in Turkey . Even the pieces done in the old Ottoman designs are actually produced in Central Asia. Some designers in New York have even tried to take credit for Suzani designs in carpets that were produced in Bokhara in the 19th century. Credit should be given where credit is due,Casey Waller,CaravanSerai.
