style scout: modern english.

We hope you’re reading this from a plush lounge chair placed poolside at some exotic locale, but if our own blog-combing experiences are any indication: You’re at work. We’re sorry about that. How about a trip to London, and a stay at the amazing Haymarket Hotel? Well, we can’t help you out there (Sorry, again!), but we can give you a peek at the quirky mix of antique furnishings and contemporary art that make up the hotel’s exciting interiors, like the conservatory pictured here. Designer Kit Kemp gave each space a distinctive style, using works by Sandra Blow and Paul Winstanley to bring the historical landmark into the modern age. Until you can sojourn there yourself, check out our picks to recreate the look in your own home.
