When Paris-based designer Cédric Ragot conceives an interior accent, such as this highly graphic rug he created for French atelier Roche Bobois, his enduring objective is to conjure a link between the functional and the conceptual. “Ponyo was actually one of my first forays into the art of rug design,” says Ragot, who says he “endeavored to invite a harmonious blend of tones, which in turn, serve to warm up a room.” Available in an array of handsome color ways and featured here in a raspberry-centric scheme, the artfully devised accessory is hand-weaved from rich New Zealand wool.
Designer Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss on the piece; “While color combination can be tricky when playing with different ends of the spectrum, Roche Bobois demonstrates how flawlessly it can be done. I love the three dimensional illusion that is portrayed through the vibrant hues.”
