We get it: Looking through architecture and design magazines can be both exciting and discouraging—a combination of “That living room is gorgeous!” with “Why doesn’t my living room look like that?” If some of the homes featured in our pages look surreal, we can assure you that they are; but that doesn’t mean we still don’t rely on a little bit of magazine magic. While we have the fortune of working with some truly phenomenal spaces—like this all Poliform kitchen by Los Angeles-based Billy Rose—not-so-little things like styling, lighting and a great photographer make all the difference.
