Savoring Summer

Savoring Summer

The typical signs of a fading summer are beginning to show themselves: back to school commercials, shorter days and cooler nights. But there is still time to get your sunshine fix by stealing away a night or two at some of our favorite designer escapes...[photo via]

Our New York Style Maker, Suzanne Cassano, finds Kit Kemp's hotels in London to be "fashion-forward and different".

The contemporary elegance materialized by Jacques Grange in his epic revamp of The Mark Hotel is also apparent in the New York landmark’s most recent offering to its guests—a bespoke fleet of bicycles. The sleek transports include signature helmets and baskets apropos for toting an epicurean picnic lunch prepared by The Mark’s highly acclaimed chef, Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

Employing plants and minerals indigenous to the state of Colorado, the signature spa treatments at the St Julien Hotel & Spa are a necessary indulgence. Prominently set in the midst of historic downtown Boulder, this AAA Five Diamond Award recipient also features several exalted restaurants including the Terrace at St Julien, which enjoys majestic views of the Flatiron mountains.

Our Florida Style Maker, Kate Parker retreats to Amankila by Amanresorts in Bali, telling us, "I’ve never experienced anything else like it in terms of its design, level of service and beyond-incredible food! It is literally the most perfect place on earth."

Perched on the 29th floor of the Affinia Chicago hotel, the C-View rooftop terrace and indoor lounge boasts alluring vistas of the city skyline. An eclectic selection of dishes prepared by esteemed Chef Marcus Samuelsson coupled with resident mixologist Daniel Bautista’s exotic arsenal of aperitifs makes this spot the perfect prelude to a night on the town.
