Best In House
May 30, 2012
Because nothing’s too good for man’s best friend, Luxe Interiors + Design and Seattle Design Center hosted Barkitecture last week—a luxury dog house construction and garden competition presented by Keller Supply Company and Kohler Co. The event called for architects, builders, designers and landscape professionals to create high-end homes for 10 classy canines. From a castle fit for a king, to a doggie duplex and accoutrements like radiant floor heating, rainwater systems, and sustainable materials and plantings, the homes spared no detail in reflecting the innovative minds and quality craftsmanship of their creators.

2. Team: Graham Baba, Jim Graham
3. Team: Castanes, Castanes Architects, Jim Castanes
4. Team: Demetriou, Demetriou Architects, Vassos Demetriou & Michelle Cozza
The homes were auctioned off for Seattle Children’s PlayGarden and the Seattle Humane Society, and bidding will continue online. This was one time we actually wanted to be in the doghouse! Keep an eye out for more information about Barkitecture in the upcoming Pacific Northwest Summer 2012 edition of Luxe.
