editor's obsession: hering berlin.

Is there a more adorable phrase in today’s food-obsessed cultural landscape than the roll-off-the-tongue “amuse bouche”? Not only do the words have all the sweet sophistication of their French origins, but they represent an idea that I ardently support: amusing my mouth. German ceramics company Hering Berlin, though, strives to satiate more than one kind of appetite with its Amuse Bouche plates, providing some much-needed nourishment to the design senses with its raw porcelain collections. I’m in love with this little number, whose manufacturing of its perforated holes is so delicate that only two of every three plates make it to showrooms, with one of those hopefully making its way directly onto my dining room table.
