maison de luxe: woodson & rummerfield.

Anyone familiar with the Dohenys, the oil industry family who built the Greystone mansion in the 1920s, knows that the events that occurred there, aside from spawning legions of ghost stories, have also launched a host of conspiracy theories. It is fun to imagine what the lady of the house, who stayed on in the mansion years after the events, was like. And if you take a look at the room Ron Woodson and Jaime Rummerfield, of Woodson and Rummerfield's House of Design, designed for our Maison de Luxe at Greystone, with the widow in mind, the answer is a fairly simple one: She was big on pink. Using Old Hollywood glamour and high-end fashion as inspiration, they imagined the one-time mistress of the estate and filled the room with delicate, yet statement-making pieces, like the mirrored vanity and brass chair from Habité and sweeping draperies from ES Designs. To see the full space, head to the mansion for the grand unveiling on December 2nd or be on the lookout for the winter issue of Luxe!
