hot spot: french kiss.

hot spot: french kiss.

You never realize how important the bedroom is until you don’t have one, or at least, until the one you do have is barely functional after a move to a new city. In order to achieve near-perfect sleep, I need to have a near-perfect setting; and, to be frank, my overflowing boxes stacked in the corner and my haphazardly strewn shoes weren’t working. So, instead of trolling the food carts at the Atlantic Antic this weekend, I got busy: washing, folding, hanging, organizing and finally laying out my super-soft duvet. I hadn’t slept so well in weeks, and I finally felt like I had carved out a little niche of my own, but that was before I saw the sitting room in the master bedroom of this California home by William Hefner and Kazuko Hoshino. I don't want my own little niche anymore; I want theirs. I love the comfortable-looking chairs, custom designed by Hoshino and upholstered in Christian Liaigre striped linen and the sweeping views beyond those romantic French doors. So, however well I slept last night, I’m pretty sure I’d sleep better here.
